WINECREATOR, an event for professionals from the world of wine

A unique meeting where twenty of the most renowned journalists, together with the world top Winecreators, will meet face to face.

Ronda, Malaga, 2008. The management team of the wine growing and making project La Melonera and Grupo Peñín have organised WineCreator, the First International Meeting of Wine Creators. The meeting, which will take place in Ronda (Malaga) on the 18th and 19th of April, will bring together the world's top wine creators, chosen by a panel of experts made up of twenty of the most internationally renowned wine critics.

WineCreator constitutes a venue where wine will be treated like a work of art, and where the key players themselves can explore the style trends that have developed in the world of wine and their differential nature.

This First Meeting will address topics as important as Grape Varieties and Terroir; What Does the Wine Creator Do in the Vineyard?; What Does the Wine Creator Do in the Winery?; Tradition, Culture and Innovation?“ How Do They Influence?As well as others, such as How outside influences, such as markets, price and consumer, can condition the manufacture of a wine.

This First Meeting of Wine Creators is a must for all the professionals in the sector who want to share different points of view related to wine "creation" with this select group of experts. The registration fee for professionals is € 2,000, which covers bus transfer service (from the airport and AVE High-Speed Train station), entrance to all conferences and tasting sessions, meals and accommodation for two nights.

The advisory committee is made up of Jancis Robinson, Honorary President of the First Meeting, Michel Bettane and the Spanish journalists Victor de la Serna and José Peñín. In addition to the committee members, WineCreators's Panel of Experts includes: Stephen Tanzer*, David Schildknecht, John Radford, Charles Metcalfe*, Robert Joseph, Joel B.Payne, Bob Campbell*, Michael Fridjhon*, James Halliday, Peter Moser, Eleonora Scholes, Rodolfo Gerschman, Pierre Casamayor, Joshua Greene, Bernard Burtschy and Ernesto Gentili.

The selected oenologists and wine creators are Ales Kristancic, Paul Draper, Ricardo Cotarella*, Alvaro Palacios, Peter Sisseck, Stephane Derenoncourt, Carlo Ferrini, Jean-Claude Berrouet*, Michel Rolland, Dirk Niepoort, Denis Dubourdieu and Olivier Humbrecht*.

This will be an eminently international event, and it will be held every two years in different countries around the world. There will also be tasting sessions with the wines made by the wine creators. Attendees or participants will come from the ranks of wine collectors and buyers, oenologists and winemakers from the world over.

WineCreator represents a new challenge in the world of wine, as it will bring together the most influential figures of the international wine elite for the very first time.

*Note: Stephen Tanzer, Charles Metcalfe, Bob Campbell, Michael Fridjhon, Ricardo Cotarella, Jean-Claude Berrouet and Olivier Humbrecht will not be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
